I joined Vaughan Engineering Services in February 2024 after 20 years in a Senior Commercial role with a large National Contractor. I was initially nervous about joining a new and smaller company after such a long spell, but that feeling was quashed instantly when walking through the door and I felt, and continue to feel, right at home and really valued. There is a family ethos here at Vaughan Engineering Services which cannot be underestimated. I am a firm believer that you are nothing without a team pulling in the same direction and is it clear to see that everyone here, no matter what role they hold, has the same goal to be the best we can be and to serve our customers (both Internal and External) to the best of our ability. This makes it a pleasure for me to come to work everyday and being able to contribute to the same.

I joined Vaughan in August 2013, attracted by the company's strong family values and its ability to adapt and embrace new technologies and approaches, whilst still maintaining its core traditions. I've got over 20 years' experience in mechanical building services, covering everything from estimating and commercial management through to project delivery and design coordination across healthcare, commercial, and public sector projects. In my role as Construction Manager, I lead and coordinate both design and site teams to make sure projects are delivered safely on programme and within budget. I enjoy working closely with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, building strong working relationships, and keeping communication clear and straightforward throughout. I pride myself on taking a customer-focused approach, making sure the client's priorities are always understood and delivered. I'm proactive in resolving issues, practical in my approach, and focused on achieving the right outcome for the project and the people involved.

Darren McIver

Contracts Manager, VESL NE

I joined Vaughan in November of 2022 as a project manager and have since successfully delivered projects across the North East of England building on a career spanning 36 years in the construction industry. Following the successful delivery of the AESC project in 2025, I was promoted to Contracts Manager. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to delivering high-quality projects, fostering strong client relationships, and supporting successful project teams. I look forward to the future and continuing my professional development and progression with Vaughan, contributing to the company’s ongoing success and growth.
