I joined Vaughan Engineering in 1992 and have worked my way up from an electrical estimator to M&E Estimating Manager, responsible for the day to day running of the estimating department. It is a great experience being part of a large mechanical and electrical company and also a great place for young enthusiastic trainees to learn their skills in a positive environment. People feel appreciated and are recognized for their dedication and hard work.

I joined Vaughan in November 2014 as a Senior Mechanical Project Manager following a lengthy period of working on international construction projects.  Having only experienced projects outside of the UK, I was initially hesitant about returning to work in NI and whether I could fit in to the ‘ways things were done here’ and if I could truly offer anything new to the company.  This was very quickly quashed once I realised how dynamic, forward-thinking and empowering Vaughan are to work for.  From the outset I felt [and continue to feel] motivated, valued, part of the team and encouraged to grow and step outside of my comfort zone.  I don’t believe I am unique in this experience as I feel all employees are valued and encouraged to continue their professional development and career progression.  These are traits that would make anyone want to work for Vaughan.

I have since progressed to my current role as Operations Manager dealing with Healthcare projects and a member of the company’s Senior Management Team.  I am passionate about the work we do and the effect the projects have on our community; particularly healthcare and education.

I joined Vaughan Engineering Services Ltd in 1983 as an apprentice Pipe Fitter.  With the companies support I achieved the required City & Guilds qualifications.  In the following years I worked on many projects progressing to Charge Hand and then Site Foreman.  In 1996 I was offered the opportunity to move into the office as a Senior Contracts Engineer. Over the last 23 years I have continued to receive ongoing support and been afforded the opportunity for ongoing training and development which has aided my progression to my current role as Operations Manager.  I work as part of a large team which continually successfully delivers on challenging contracts.  Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with motivated individuals on numerous diverse and interesting projects.
