Vaughan Engineering North East Update

23 Jul 2019

Vaughan North East have recently completed two very important projects, Vaux (The Beam) office development with Tolent Construction, and Walney Island Airport Hanger with Graham Civil Engineering, part of the Graham Group.

Following the demise of the original contractor we worked closely with both Tolent and Sunderland City Council on the Vaux site, and re-engaged on the project in August 2018, completing a successful handover in early summer 2019.  This proved to be a great example of collaboration with both clients and our supply chain, many of whom we retained to complete their original works. Sunderland City Council were keen to support the original local supply chain and committed to complete the project with their involvement.

Vaughan Engineering have a longstanding relationship with Graham having worked together on many projects across both Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The Walney Island project started with design involvement in September 2018 and we successfully handed over the project in May 2019.

This was at times a challenging project with a number of key interfaces with Graham and other specialist contractors.  Vaughan helped coordinate these technical challenges to achieve completion, and we look forward to continuing the relationship with both Graham and BAE on the site.

These successful project completions will help rebuild our business in the region, and we will continue to work closely with clients and suppliers to provide further repeat business throughout the whole supply chain.
